Im sure you have heard me mention her name in some of my prior posts,
but I have not yet dedicated an entire blog post to the infamous
Twiggy. So who is Twiggy? Why is she so famous and what is she up to
nowadays? Well, Lesley Lawson aka Twiggy is known originally as the
“Face of ’66″. She was born in 1949 and by the age of 16, had become
internationally known as the worlds first supermodel. Since then she has
been involved in acting and music. More recently she has been seen as a
guest judge on Americas Next Top Model and as part of the Marks and
Spencer campaign. At a height of only 5’6″ tall and 110 pounds, her
greatest influence is said to be Jean Shrimpton, whom Twiggy says is
truly the Worlds first Supermodel. So, when you see these super thin
models on the catwalk and have a discussion with your friends about how
skinny models are and how Kate Moss created this “problem” in the
fashion biz, think twice. Twiggy may just be the culprit behind this
obsession that we continue to have with boyish, bone thin models since
1966.
